Prom for Dreams Program Makes Magic for Foster Youth

Local UCF student Caitlin Connolly focuses on providing normalcy for foster teens at Prom.

Prom night is a special event in the lives of many Central Florida high school students. Yet for those in foster care or Independent Living situations, prom can serve as a reminder of the lack of stability in their lives. Many struggle with finding appropriate attire and accessories on a limited budget. With this in mind, local UCF student Caitlin Connolly founded the Proms for Dreams program, which allows foster youth to select from donated dresses, tuxedos, shoes, jewelry, hair accessories and more in a boutique setting.

Caitlin and her program were featured in a recent article published on the Central Florida Future website.

Prom for Dreams has most recently teamed up with our community partners the Foundation for Foster Children, Intervention Services, Inc. and Community Based Care of Seminole.
